Madliena is a prestigious town, situated at high elevation and an exclusive residential area in the north of Malta. Endowed with magnificent views of the northern bays of the island, close to the tourist village of St Paul’s Bay and its beaches and at the same time it is minutes away from the heart of entertainment and shopping in St Julians.

Property in Msida, Malta

As the name suggests, Msida was previously an old fishing village. It became popular with local people after a leading German Knight of the Order of St John decided to reside in this town in the late 18th century. He also built the famous Ghajn tal-Hassielin that provided a source of water for the villagers. The vaulted building still stands and is used today by fishermen to house their boats and nets.
Apart from pleasant marina-sidewalks, Msida also hosts one of Malta’s unique cave chapels and an elegant baroque church dedicated to St. Joseph that was built at the turn of the 19th century. This town also houses a modern yacht marina with over 250 yacht berths. Today, Msida is a bustling university town and development has in fact been centred on an ever increasing student population at the University.
